TAIYUAN | Liansheng Towers | ~500m x 2 | ~1650ft x 2 | App

Ground breaking ceremony. Design by SOM.

As you can clearly see here, there are another 2x500m plots. We've been waiting for these 3x500m plots for more than 1 year, and they could be
released at any time. So be ready for 3x500m+ in Taiyuan. Surprisingly the first plot is twin, so that rises the whole thing to 4x500m~, lol.

The 3 plots are:

Liansheng Project (must be the headquarters of Liansheng Energy Group). 2x500m~.
Shanxi Coking Coal Group Headquarters. Design coming. 500m.
Taiyuan Iron & Steel Group Headquarters. Desing coming. They published that it will be around 630m.

wow, that design is amazing! Can't wait for some proper renders to appear! I really wish these designs would be built in more known cities though, considering Zifeng Tower in Nanjing is pretty much unknown to everyone who isn't on this site.

Another render. You can easily count 75~ and 90~ floors. Likely 450m~ and 330m~. Again, we can see two plots reserved for projects with a similar height. They didn't credit the source.

Who cares? Petronas is tacky and outdated. These towers are much more attractive.

I don't know if I see this as twin, it looks connected to me. After all the Gate of the Orient in Suzhou is counted as one too right?

2 connections BTW. Both will have their own core and structure, so one could argue it's a twin.

just realized the plots nearby also seem to be lowered in height so instead of 4 500m buildings, looks like it is more like 4 400m buildings. quite sad, still epic, but sad

In the case of known cities in China, that list would be two cities long. I mean seriously a lot of people haven't heard of Guangzhou or Shenzhen so thiose projects there shouldn't be built or moved to Hong Kong.

They build them where they need them, if infrastructure development happened only around cities known to people overseas there would be no national development.

Location of Chinese projects is not the problem , overriding ignorance of China due to lack of interest , shoody media coverage etc is the problem.

Concentrating future development in or around two cities in order to appease those who don;t know any better is not a solution.

Your point may be quite true but it's also in this case totally irrevelant.

How can something that doesn't exist be compared to something that does? There are no towers as such how could they be better or worse than the Pretronas Towers? It defies logic.
