I just wanted to post some nice bridges and didn't want to create a polemic... Soon you will see bridge in Alsace which was not a part of France 100 years ago (whereas French Guyana was). Geography and politics are too complicated for me...
So let's get back to bridges and with a bridge in Paris, I'm sure that this one at least is in France.

The more recent bridge of Paris is the Passerelle Simone-de-Beauvoir. It is a Lenticular (lens shaped) structure with rotational anchorages in the supports (thx wikipedia for the sentence, I would have been unable to say that). It is used only by pedestrians.

Another great road/metro bridge in Paris is the Bir-Hakeim bridge. More exactly it is a road bridge with over it, the metro viaduct (which is called the Passy viaduct). Great looking bridge, and great view from it.

After Paris, let's go to the south with the provence alpes côtes d'Azur region and first the Pont suspendu de Mallemort.
Not much to say about this wood suspension bridge. It was built in 1848 and was wash away or damaged numerous time due to flood (the Durance river is well known for its floods).

You like rail T interchanges? You like sloping bridges? You will love the tgv viaducts of Avignon. Just after the new tgv station, the tracks elevate themselves and cross the Rhone river (the bridges are 20m hight on one side, 50m on the other). You have one branch which goes to Paris and the other to Montpellier (and then to Spain).
Oh, I forget to say that the viaducts are curvy...

Today an (almost) unknown bridge: the Cai viaduct over the Bévéra river on the Trende train line. Look at this central arch perpendicular to the bridge.
The design of this bridge is by Paul Séjourné (You will see more bridge by him in this thread). They did it that way because it cross a valley with a really acute angle.

The canal de Marseille was built in the mid 19th century to bring water from the Durance river to Marseille. For long it was the almost only source of water for Marseille. It needed the construction of many tunnels and bridges, the most famous one is the Aqueduct de Roquefavour.
This bridge reminds me of the pont du gard.

I want to show you now the Mirabeau's bridge or bridges as I should say.
There was a bridge crossing the Durance river at this place since the 15th century but it was wash away several time by the flood. The Mirabeau bridges is famous for its two successive suspension bridges : the first one was built in 1845 but was destroyed during the first world war.
The present bridge was opened in 1888. Too bad they did not keep the old ones.

The pont de caronte is a railway bridge over the canal de Caronte which link the Étang de Berre (a lagoon) to the Mediterranean sea. The central part of this truss bridge can swing to let pass boats.
It was destroyed during the 2nd world war but reconstructed after.

To finish this week in the south, one of the bridge I like the most: the viaduct of Chanteloube. Drown by the construction of the Serre-Ponçon dam, you can still see its beginning. And of course, when the level of the water decreases, the whole bridge appears...
This viaduc was on a never finished rail line (the construction was stopped in 1935 when France closed most of its local lines).

This week, let's go the Normandy. Actually there is two regions lower and upper normandy but I take them together.

First a very important historical bridge. Pegasus Bridge is the codename of the former Bénouville bridge. It is famous for Operation Deadstick: the capture of this bridge (and the next one) by a glider borne unit during WW2.
The pegasus bridge was put in a museum in 1994. The old bridge and the one that replaced it in 1994 are good example of bascule bridges. More exactly of a subtype of bascule bridge: William Scherzer's system.

The pont de Norandie (Normandy's bridge) is a cable stayed bridge at the mouth of the Seine river. It connect the city of Le Havre with the city of Honfleur. It took 7 years to finished and it opened in 1995. At that time the bridge was the longest cable-stayed bridge in the world.

Bonus: pont de Nomandie (?) over the grand canal. Just north of the Seine river, you have a cannal and thus this bridge. I do believe that it has the same name but I'm not sure. help!

The Souleuvre's viaduct is a well known spot for Bungee jumping. It was once a rail bridge on the Caen-Vire line, a one track line, that was exploited between 1890 and 1960 (passenger services stopped in 1938). The Viaduct was built by Gustave Eiffel.
For safety reasons, the platform was dynamited in 1970. In 1990 they constructed a permanent platform for bungee jumping on one of the pillar.

The aqueduc de Coutances is an old aqueduct bridge in Coutances. I don't have much information on it. It was used from the 13th century to the 19th. Most probably it used an inverted siphon to decrease the hight of the bridge.
