The Passerelle Himalayenne du Drac (Himalaya small bridge over the Drac) is a pedestrian ridge over the river Drac. Together with the Passerelle Himalayenne de l'Ébron, you have a nice hiking trail around the lake.
Note that this bridge has stabilizing cables below and to the side of the deck.

To construct the small railway line from La Mûre to Corps, you need to cross the La Bonne stream. The problem is that on the straight line you need to go down by 200m then go up by the same 200m. Thus they decided to cross the river upstream which gave you a big "loop". On this loop you have two bridges: the La Bonne viaduct and the one I present you today: the Viaduc de la Roizonne.
This bridge was built by Paul Séjourné. It is a great example of masonry bridge. Unfortunatly the railway line closed but they used the platform for a road. Thus you can still use this bridge.

The "pont mégalithique du hameau du prieuré" (megalithic bridge of the Prieuré village) is the oldest bridge in France that I know of. It is a dry stone bridge that cross a small stream. In winter and summer, you can cross the ford and don't need this bridge.

Let's go now to Aquitaine.

The Aquitaine bridge is a suspension bridge that allows the ring road (A630) of Bordeaux to cross the Garonne. The bridge was opened in 1967 but they needed to change the supsension cables in 2000.

The Bassanne bridge is a medieval bridge. I was not able to find when this bridge was built; the more precise I can get is around the 12 or 13th century. It is now a pedestrian bridge.

The Passerelle Eiffel was an old rail bridge in Bordeaux. In 1860, when it was constructed, it connected the tracks of the Midi's compagy and of the Paris-Orléans company. Prior to that, passenger from Paris, has to stop on the other side of the Garonne and cross a bridge to arrive in the center of the city.
In 2008 they opened a new bridge which is 4 tracks (instead of only 2 for the Passerelle Eiffel). They decided to keep the passerelle but they don't know how to use it.

the Pont-canal d'Agen is, if you haven't find out, a canal bridge in the city of Agen. It allows the lateral Garonne canal to cross the Garonne. It was built around 1850 but was not used so much (not much traffic + toll too high).
Around 1900 people wanted to destroyed it because they believed that it stop the flow of the river and caused flood. Fortunately, it would have cost too much to destroyed so they keep it. It is now a really nice place to walk...

The Pont de la Tour (tower bridge) crosses the isle river. This bridge is over 3 cities and 2 regions (Aquitaine and Limousin).
It was built in the 14th century to connect the Limousin with the Périgord. There are hints of older bridges at this place however I was not abble to find informations on them.

The pont de la liberation in Villeneuve-sur-lot is a masonry arch bridge built in 1913. I really like this bridge because of its two parallel arches. The arches are of UNrenforced concrete.

The adour bridge located at aire sur l'adour was built in 1833. Before this bridge you had an old stone bridge a bit more to the east (you can still see where it was with the layout of the street). However the river change its course and stopped running perdicular to the bridge. This weakened the fundations and the bridge was destroyed at the end of the 18th century.
When you walk on the Le puy Route of the way to Santiago de Compostela, aire sur l'adour is a stop. However, from Barcelonne-du-Gers you walk in a subburban city and it is really a relief to see the bridge because you know you arrived at last.

I added two photos to yesterday bridge. Two régions and 6 départements for this week: Alsace and Lorraine.

The Jaulny viaduc is a rail bridge of the HSR line "tgv est" (from Paris to Strasbourg). It opened in 2007.
They wanted to reduce the visial impact of the viaduc so it has only 6 pier but it is 480m long. They had to do some special efforts to allow train to cross it at 320 km/h but also in the case of emergency stop.
You have a beautifull view (but a short one) when the tgv cross this viaduc.

The Saint-Amand lock-bridge is located in Verdun. It was built by Vauban to protect the city by flooding its surrounding. There was 2 others such bridges in Verdun and some in other cities.

The Petite-France ("Little France") is one of the most touristic place of Strasbourg with many old houses and canals. In the Petite-France you have 3 bridges named "les ponts couverts" which are no longer covered bridge. However, what are nice with these bridges are the 4 fortified towers defending them.
The bridges were built in the 13th century when Strasbourg was expended outside the island.

The bridge today was a roman aqueduct bridge to bring water to Metz. The bridge was 1.2km long and crossed the Moselle. Some 20 arches remains in the city of Jouy-aux-Arches (self explaining name).
