Most buildings on here arent skyscrapers. Just small apartment blocks. Some other guy posted something similar to this.

This one from the town where I was raised.

Until now I do not know what is its name. The tower has never been occupied since completion (circa 1990). It is the only tall building at the town and is considered very tall (about 20 storey tall) by my town's standard thus the reference to it as 'the skyscraper'. The podium keeps on changing from being a large furniture store, to a supermarket. My last sighting of the tower saw it is being used by bird nest farmers who breed swallows for its nests as exotic cuisine.

Segamat is a town in Johor, a state in Malaysia with about 82,000 population. It is considered a lesser developed town in Johor due to its location which is about 200 km away from the state capital, Johor Bahru (the city across the causeway from Singapore) and not located along the North-South Expressway which connects Singapore and Thailand across the entire length of Peninsular Malaysia.

Segamat is also notoriously known for its annual flood. It is rural by Malaysian standard and its main industry is plantation.

I think in order for a rural apartment skyscraper to work it might have to have a far bigger then usual apartments or condos in side of it. Or it could in a good location like a resort town with a lot of natural beauty where the local governments don't want the hillsides and beaches covered in hundreds of thousands of look alike houses. Over all I think the idea of the rural skyscraper might have a lot of future uses in it.
