The Blue Line begins at Lagos island on a shared alignment with the Blue Line, which will be an elevated track and have 3 stations (Marina, Ebute Ero, and Iddo). The shared alignment will continue on a bridge crossing Lagos Harbour until it ends at Iddo, where the corridor splits into two. From Iddo, the Blue Line continues west on an elevated track crossing just south of the National Theatre until reaching Iganmu Station at the middle of the Badagry Expressway. From there, the line continues as an at-grade track along the central reservation of the rebuilt Badagry Expressway until Okokomaiko Station, with stations at Alaba, Mile 2, Festac, Alakija, Trade Fair, Volkswagen, and LASU.

There aren't to much new photos at last, so I relink some pictures made by Adeyinka James Shorungbe, who did 175 kilometres trek through the Lagos in six days.

I named stations as author did.

Orije Station

Alafia Station

Mile 2 station - building now.

I have this impression that the work slowed.

Arinze, I trust BRF. I know that the work will be completed before the end of its mandate.

Paddylo said that he saw them laying tracks - so maybe the work is back on track again.

When the work slows - it is simply a funding issue.

"Simply". You make it sound as af its normal!

But to be fair, in Edinburgh they are building a single 13km tram line to the airport from the city which is massively overbudget and massively late.

MY BLUE LINE UPDATE

Dear friends,

I spent 4 Months in Lagos between July - October 2012, I went to the project sites and took pictures, spoke to engineers on works sites, CCECC are currently on the verge of completing the first phase of the blue line which involves construction of four stations shown above Mile 2 - National theatre Stations and track laying.......
I can see you guys are a bit sceptical about the project saying that the project stopped it never stopped i visited the project twice and there is a lot of activity but you need to visit the site to see the scale of the project, don't forget that the state government has already paid for both this project and LOT 1 of the expressway expansion but because these projects were handled by two different construction firms there was catastrophic interface problems hence LASG decided to award both LOT2 of the expressway expansion and PHASE 2 of the blue line construction to the one firm which was CCECC simply because they are cheaper.
