GREATER MANILA | Our Lady of Monte Maria Statue | 101m | Tallest Marian Shrine in the World

MONTEMARIA

Brgy. Amuyong, Alfonso, Cavite

This healing center and Marian shrine is situated just a few miles from Tagaytay City and an hour’s trip from Metro Manila through SLEX. The healing center is a mecca for the disabled and sick who wish to be healed by the miraculous hands of Father Fernando Suarez. It features a huge convention center where healing masses are held, stores of various religious items that you can easily get blessed and a large garden of various flowers and Marian statues. The site is not yet complete, as the proprietors are still planning to construct a 33-storey statue of the Holy Mother on top of the mountain where the site is situated.

Mama Mary's tallest statue to rise in Cavite

MANILA, Philippines - Cavite marked the groundbreaking ceremony of the Oratory of the Blessed Virgin Mary, now called Our Lady of MonteMaria. It will have 33 storeys, reaching all of 101 meters to become the world’s tallest religious statue, befitting Mary’s role as the Mother of God of all people, the Mother of the World of all nations.

She will be our “Mama Mary of the Poor” — the poor in society, the poor in spirit, and the rich who love the poor.

The affair started with a Eucharistic Mass officiated by Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales with Bishop Luis Antonio Tagle of Cavite, Bishop Pedro Arigo of Palawan, Bishop Antonio Palang of Mindoro, Fr. Francis Donnelly of Canada, Fr. Jeff Shannon, Fr. Javy Javines, Fr. Hector Bariel, Fr. Hector Arellano, 25 other priests and, of course, the great healer, Fr. Fernando Suarez.

The VIP-studded affair was graced by Gretchen Cojuangco, wife of business tycoon Danding Cojuangco, who donated the 125 hectares where the oratory will rise, presidential sister Viel Aquino, Greggy Araneta, Ambassador Joey Antonio, Congressman Arthur Yap, Jun Tambunting, Erik Tagle, Greg and Paz Monteclaros, Henry Sy’s family, among others. Also present were thousands of devotees of Our Lady of MonteMaria.

In Cardinal Rosales’ inspiring homily, he said that the key to heaven is not through St. Peter but through our acts of charity to the poor.

God gives a chance to everyone to be able to help; He gives us a thought and it is up to us to make the thought an act. Cardinal Rosales asked Fr. Suarez to allot one hectare of the land primarily for the needy and the poor, to which Fr. Suarez gladly obliged.

On the gently rolling hills of Metro-Tagaytay in Cavite province, 70 kilometers south of Manila in the Philippines, will soon rise the Oratory of the Blessed Virgin Mary in MonteMaria, a center for God’s poor, a sacred space for healing of humanity and nature...a magnificent prayer.

“MonteMaria is a place to encounter God in a personal and powerful way; a place for healing – restoration and reconciliation, renewal and revival; a place to meet Jesus through the intercession of Mama Mary of the Poor.”

Thus Fr. Fernando Suarez describes this monumental undertaking of the Mary Mother of the Poor Foundation (MMPF), a worldwide charitable organization he started as a seminarian in 1996.

Oh good, we've managed to make it at least 5 posts without some egit chiming in with anti religious sentiment.

I dare say they'd not be so bold if it were Islam they were mocking.
