Yep! It's coming along very nicely! I cannot wait to see this one rise personally. One of my favourite designs.

Does anyone have any recent pictures/images of the sight?

'Demo' still goes in the proposed section.

The Scalpel is going to amazing... I think it will be one of London's best towers.

Oh this is just fantastic!

I'm so glad this is really happening. It will be a very popular addition to the city.

(It is really happening, right?)

Great building!

INsurers in the U.S. opt for the cheapest space possible, yet in London, they occupy prime space. This company's world HQ is in the suburbs on NYC, and they would never anchor a new tower in Manhattan.

It's more that this is the only space that exists for them in such a large available block. London doesn't have the same volume of commodity space as NYC and vacancy is probably below 5% in their target range.

William Berkley (founder and chairman of W.R.Berkley):

Quote:
“The proposed development of 52-54 Lime Street is an integral component of our international growth strategy. With the continuing expansion of our operations here, it makes sense to invest in a landmark building which will provide a strong base for that growth.

“This major investment is a signal of our belief and confidence in London as the centre of the global insurance market. Creating a new European headquarters on Lime Street, alongside of some of the largest companies in the industry, is an affirmation of the City of London as the centre of the insurance and reinsurance industries.”
52 Lime Street is located in the heart of London's insurance quarter. Lloyds of London, Aon headquarters, Aviva headquarters, Amlin headquarters, Swiss Re's London base, Kirkland & Ellis European base, W.R. Berkley's European base (etc) will literally be metres from each other.

W.R. Berkley will occupy 25% of this tower, leaving 75% to let. Given the City of London rental rates, that'll be a good cash cow.
