Urban Renewal Forum?
One of my favorite urbanity topics is Urban Renewal. I know many others on this site find it interesting too but it appears there is no forum for Urban Renewal and Urban Renewal related threads are kind of spread out all over the place on SSC.
I propose an Urban Renewal forum where you post threads about older highrises/skyscrapers getting a face lift and other Urban Renewal and renovation related projects. Mods/Admins is a forum like this plausible? |

Really?? Omg! I would love an Urban Renewal Forum.
![]() If it happens, I will post daily to keep it active, As I've noticed new forums can struggle a bit at first. |

Seriously? I don't know what goes on behind the closed doors of SSC, so keep us all updated.

Hot and trending means to mods: it might take a while.
But be assured that some of us think it's an interesting idea.

I love the idea too, we just need to see if there is enough forum material right now and if there is I am sure such a section could be opened. The key to success is not to discuss urban renewal as such but to discuss concrete projects around the world instead.

There is that, but we would also need enough contributors.

![]() I'm confident they'll come in, Urban Renewal related threads are usually popular. Also, this forum would not be for a specific nationality but everyone on SSC. |

If this forum were created, I think threads should be made from scratch. The Urban Renewal forum should be similar to the City/Metro Compilations forum.
Example threads: NEW YORK CITY | Urban Renewal LONDON | Urban Renewal TOKYO | Urban Renewal All Tokyo urban renewal projects, for example, would be compiled under one thread, this would make the forum clean and would eliminate the need for subforums. If the forum is made I will start making the threads and reposting articles/information from other threads into the new threads. I will also find new information. Trust me, I'm reliable!!

Large scale projects like HafenCity Hamburg or Barangaroo which are a kind of urban regenration could also be moved to this section to give it an initial momentum.

I think it's very feasible. I'm also an expert at surfing (the web) so of course I can help.I'm the third biggest poster in the Johannesburg Urban Renewal thread and the largest non Joburger poster! http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=542573 The Urban Renewal of South African cities is truly fascinating! |
