Here are some more quick shots of my Woolworth Building under construction. Progress has been very slow, as I spent most of the last week or two preparing for Skyfall by rewatching all the old Bond films. Now that that's over, progress should be quicker. I expect to finish by the end of the week.

Some more progress...the main facade is all finished, just missing some details. Hopefully, tonight I'll wrap up those details, and finish up the base. Tomorrow, I'll move on to the crown and lighting.

Thanks very much, everyone.

ohjingoh, yes this will also be lit. I'll be using 8, possibly 10 3mm white LEDs for this model. You can see the spaces I made for them in the 2nd picture.

Thanks very much.

Here is the completed Woolworth Building. It's my favourite project thus far. I love how it turned out

Note: My girlfriend made that tiny 1WTC hiding behind the Woolworth

Thanks very much.

My next project will be the Beekman Tower [aka 8 Spruce Street, aka 'New York By Gehry' (terrible name)]

It is amazingly detailed!! I love the LED lights! They make the building very realistic. You really should computerize the drawing and make them as a kit then sell them!

I will look forward to your next project too. They look extremly trickly to make them with flat-hard foam boards. I am curious to see how you make them. Good luck

Thank you!

I finished the frame of the Beekman Tower last. Tonight, I'll start on the undulating silver skin.

Good luck with that one... Create waves then add cladding on it is a real challenge IMO!

I've been thinking for over a month now about the best way to create the waves. Creating the waves and then adding cladding over it will be wayyyy too hard or may not work at all. My method will be to create the waves WITHIN the cladding itself. We'll see if it works.

I absolutely fell in love with your finished Woolworth Tower! It's absolutely amazing! The details on the top are astonishing, but the tower as a whole is just, WOW! Keep up the Good work Jrob! And I wish you luck on trying to figure out the cladding on the Beekman tower, that's going to be a toughy!
