Cladding has already started. Can't wait to see more of it and get an idea how this would look like. Hope this building would turn out to be a good addition to an area that has relatively remained the same for decades

I agree that it is overused. However, on the balance, the NYC skyline still favors stone and other forms of cladding. I think the current influx of glass facades will help to balance things out. That being said, I wouldn't want the trend to continue indefinitely.

I would agree with you but many of them are towering over the surrounding buildings making them really imposing more than they should be.

Work Resumes At 161 Maiden Lane, Aka One Seaport, Financial District - 24 November 2017

Construction in New York City can be a dangerous occupation, and unfortunately, Juan Chinchillo lost his life on September 21st, when he fell from 161 Maiden Lane, aka 1 Seaport. While the project has been on hold for two months while the Department of Buildings investigated, they have now partially lifted the stop-work orders imposed after the accident, and work appears to be resuming on the tower.
