I think you can definitely blame them for some part.
They decided to take this contractor in, which they probably did purely based on the price.
And with low price the contractor has to save on costs, safety for example.

If they had looked at more than costs alone when picking a contractor this could have been avoided.

But this is how it works all around the world, companies look only at costs, not at durability, environment, safety, workers health etc.

The contractor is Australia's biggest construction company. They even build London's Wembley Stadium (though, that one was a problematic job). Is not some Ahmad's personal team we're talking about

.... plus, accidents do happen.

Australia´s largest construction company indeed.... They well know not to commit this kind of act in their, home country Australia cos their construction site will be shut down and their licenses seized.
How can they loose three construction workers and barely a month later, they resume work and its buisness as usual, no proper investigation and workers are working under the same kind of conditions. Well...its Dubai folks, where worker's rights are routinely abused.

Well in that case thank God it is Dubai! accidents happen ... I really sympathize with the workers and their families but we shouldn't let this accident shut down the construction of this tower

I am not advocating for the construction work to be stopped and i think everyone wants this project to be completed as fast as possible, but at least the company should compensate the families of the dead workers with substantial amount of money.
Does anyone know how much their families were given as compensation?

The case is under prosecution. The Court will decide who will pay the money (i.e. who is guilty of the mishap) and how much.

However, usually here the compensation in case of causing an accidental death is AED 200,000 (around $55k)

They should do some big projects on that largely empty area next.

That might end up being the next place the Dubai mall extends when it decides to grow Again next time

But they should have something there until then like a park or something else

I may be wrong but on the picture posted above, it seems that there are 4 cranes again.

So, either is an old picture (before the accident) or have they added a new crane since last week?
