Can't wait for the landscape on the interchange to be completed. It will look amazing on those aerial pictures (from BK)

It shouldn't take too long now. On the most recent pictures, they seem to have installed all the sprinklers, except on the part which is just behind Skyview, where the work is still on going.

But, yes, you are right. That will be awesome and I'm also waiting for it with impatience. Dubai definitely needs as much greenery as possible in order to fight against the impression of dryness, at least inside the city.

Really BIG PILES, of money, more than enough to hire a few structural engineers.
I heard they had so much money, they were even considering using an architect, if you can believe that!

The comments to this are funny!

But I will actually help, yes there are piles, very deep I assume, and probably spread over a wide area
The deeper the piles help it to not topple over and to stop the tower sinking because of the softer ground which can to an extent even be moved by hand

Compared to New York, where the rock is incredibly hard and solid where buildings can pretty much just sit in and on, most skyscrapers there start beneath ground level so that the buildings don't 'slide' along the rocky surface to an extent

Are piles really enough strong to support such building on sand. I mean, is friction between piles and sand soil enough to prevent building from sinking. I guess sand is much dense as piles are going deeper, but anyway, Dubai is modern city and all those highrises are there for not such long time, especially supertalls. Can we be sure they are not going to sink by the time. Similar thing was with Venice. Once, when built it was good, but today we see that whole city is sinking... Now, can this happend with Dubai too...?

Venice is not on top of mud, is also effected by rising sea levels and is also up to 1,000 years old

PS: Let it go

The piles are so deep, that they reach harder grounds under the sand. Because of that, the tower will not sink in the future.
And I hope the projects are so well conceived, that not all towers will look like the Leaning Tower of Pisa in future .( good example for what would happen, if you build a tower WITHOUT using piles)
