Did Dubai over do it with all the highway infrastructure? I understand they are planning for future growth, but it seems an at-grade integrated grid with grand boulevards and traffic lights would have made much more sense here.

I totally agree with you on this one, the one thing I don't like about Dubai's planning is lack of a consistent inner city road network. Look at Business Bay for example, it would have been much better off with a grid then curved roads, same goes with marina and JLT.

You do realize that Business Bay, Dubai Marina and JLT are around oval shaped, bodies of water, right? Your argument stands on TECOM area.

What I see problematic is that not enough access roads are available to and from these communities, not the presence of the highways, that were there before them .... and are the reason why they are build near them.

I recall seeing pictures of Dubai's 12-lane highways full of cars, if they hadn't "over done it", congestion would likely be horrendous.

getroy, thanks for the nice shots, I wanted to LIKE the post, but the option is not available, not sure why that is, I see other forum members have been able to.
Oh, now I see that there is no post number displayed on your post, that is probably why I can't LIKE it.

Hopefully a MODERATOR will see and be able to remedy
the situation?

I am looking to purchase an apartment at the Index Tower and the apartments are going at a premium because of the Burj Khalifa view, the way i see it this tower will block most of it, am i correct with that assumption?

I think you should look for an apartment in the west side of the Index. That way you can see BK the best, and the wide part of the BLVD will stop at 250m. So buy a high apartment.
