A tale of a very, very unfortunate situation

Hello to all, especially admins and moderators of SSC


First and foremost, I would like to apologize myself for discussing the matter in such a public way. Unfortunately, I'm deeply saddened that there was no chance provided to talk this over with each other like a man talks to a fellow man.

I feel obliged to express out my side of the story.


I have contributed to SSC for years now, with many insightful posts and long picture reports on croatian forum section. I have become acquainted with many forumers and formed strong interpersonal bonds. We have formed a community. We have a great sense of humor, in-jokes and all that. Pranks are not uncommon between us. We all take them light heartedly and they bring us tremendous joy.

This prologue is needed to understand my actions on Saturday evening. This week is my birthday, and I have devised what seemed to me a harmless plan to prank my best friend on forums. He is a mega-poster and has over 26 000 posts. Of course, what if some day he would discover that I magically have four times as many? It would make a great laugh.

As I am a student of Computer Science and quite familiar with inner workings of forum software, I have devised a quickly dismountable and harmless plan to achieve that. It would have lasted only for a day. No harm whatsoever to anyone would be done during the process or afterwards. There is even no rule that strictly forbade it. Everything would return to normal. Except that everyone would have a good laugh.


What has happened I couldn't have imagined in my worst nightmares (and I can have quite some).

Next day my account was permanently banned, without any notice or ability to respond.


I was shocked. Horrified. Scared. Astonished. My mind worked at lightspeed. What have I done? This couldn't be happening! Am I dreaming? It was real. All my effort, gone. For what? Did I insult someone? Did I crash a forum? No, no… I broke down…

Of course, I do apologize for what came next. But I was so startled, I wasn't thinking straight. I tried, oh boy I tried. But it seemed like a quicksand. With every firetruck I delivered, the flames just got bigger. I realized this was a fire I had no resources to cope with. I became desperate. I did what I did. I am sorry.


Well, if something interests you in particular, please ask. I just want to discuss this directly, because silence is more deafening than a sound of two Supernovas violently colliding (in a Michael Bay movie, that is).

Well first of all you spam a construction thread with 111.000 posts, supposed to be a prank (not so funny).

Then when your account is banned in order to prevent further spam you go mental in pm?

Just realize than when I deleted your posts as spam, it was only one checkbox for me to click on to submit your IP details to the anti-spam service and have it blacklisted from all websites with our anti-spam system.

I got "mental" only after no one would talk to me about it. You first. I was shattered, a wounded animal. I really felt that way.

Grofe pokazao si da nisi dovoljno zainteresovan upravo za moderiranje kada si to uradio. I pored toga umesto da se izvinis ti se svojski trudis da ubedis druge da si ti u pravu i da tu nema nista strasno a mogao si opasno da sjebes forum, i HR sekciju i uopste SSC. Spambot uopste nije stvar za salu. To sto nije doslo do tezih tehnickih posledica ne znaci da nije moglo doci, zapravo su vece sanse bile da dodje do kurcslusa kada se u par minuta napravi toliko postova. Isto kao kada pucas da ubijes nekoga, to sto si ti igrom slucaja promasio ne znaci da nisi pokusao ubistvo. Dakle stvar je ozbiljna, admini su poludeli kad su videli a ja sam mislio da ti je account uhakovan, ne mogu da verujem da ti je tako nesto palo na pamet. Upoznat sam i sa porukama koje si slao HR moderatorima i sokiran sam da si mogao tako nesto da im uradis. Da li si se i na sekund stavio u njihovu poziciju kad si im slao onakve poruke?! A to sto admini nisu imali saosecanja prema tebi (kao ni ti prema HR moderatorima), pa zamisli npr. jednom od njih je najbolji prijatelj poginuo u ratu bas taj dan, i onda mu se ti javljas da se ides ubiti ili sta vec jer nisi vise moderator - hteo je da blokira celu Hrvatsku sa SSC-a u tom trenutku. Daj molim te se saberi i shvati da si debelo pogresio i da treba da slusas sad sve sto ti admini napisu a ne da im kontriras kako bi nekako ispravio situaciju.
