This post clearly justifies the true power of architecture in turning a boring place into the most pleasurable place. Thanks for sharing those pictures, which depicts the entire process of renovation.

I love threads like this on SSC. Wonderful to see such a beautiful building being brought back to life again after the appalling damage it suffered. Once again it is evidence of how superior traditional styles are to the so-called "cutting edge" we have today from some architects which is invariably banal and inhuman.

First time seeing this thread, and I must say: for a structure that was once destroyed by fires many years ago, looking at the painstaking renovation processes truly makes me reconsider the importance of preserving and restoring historic structures, especially of those that hold significant importance for so many people like Sarajevo City Hall. I mean, looking at the before and after images, it just makes me want to appreciate the true beauty and splendor of public structures that are meant to serve people, rich and poor, young and old, able to walk and handicapped... I am sending my heartfelt congratulations and job well done to the people who continue to reconstruct an important structure that brings people around Sarajevo together.
