What kind of a development is it? Is it also a social housing estate? Will the former tenants of the Ferrier Estate get apartments in Kidbrooke Village or where would they go?

Yes it is going to be a mixed income community, with social housing. The former tenants of the Ferrier Estate all have first option for moving into the new neighbourhood. Some already have.

The project is still in its early stages.

Thanks SE9 for the wonderful photos.

I am very keen to live here when Phase 2 is completed.
How long does it take by train from Kidbrooke Train Station to Canary Wharf? Is it best to transfer at Lewisham? How long does it take by train from Kidbrooke to Lewisham?

One again, thanks

Hello...

The quickest way to Canary Wharf is to transfer at Lewisham. The train from Kidbrooke to Lewisham only takes around 7 minutes. The DLR from Lewisham to Canary Wharf is exactly 15 minutes, so overall you're looking at a rough journey time of 25 minutes (including train transfer).

Hope that helps

Wow! Thanks for these photos. This is a part of my city I know little about, but what a transformation! Those 60's and 70's estates are beyond comprehension, I know they were not in such a bad state when new but I always hated them like poison and I could not be more pleased to see that their day of reckoning has come at last!!
