Complaint re thread closing.

Dear All,

I hereby want to complain about the closure of the following thread: http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1549030

The mod's decision to close the photo thread on Poland's former eastern territories stands, in my opinion, in clear opposition to keeping open the similar photo threads on former East Prussia or German lands at the end of XIX cent.

At the end of the day some misunderstandings between nations are a result of local knowledge, as well as local media reports/articles, and the threads like this would allow the interested forumers to acquire some info & knowledge and look "behind the wall".

With regards to above, in view of keeping 'skyscrapercity.com' as a valuable platform to communicate between anonymous forumers from various countries, and in respect of the freedom of speech, I ask you for re-opening the above mentioned thread.

Regards,
katsuma

Anyway, I'm waiting for new thread about Kresy and former Polish teritories. Closing that thread was unfair IMO. Pozdrawiam!

My plan was to add some photos of...

Zhovkva/Zolkiew Castle
It was founded by Stanislaw Zolkiewski as his fortified residence. Construction began in 1594 and was mostly completed in 1606.
The golden age of the Zolkiew Castle was the late 17th century when it passed through inheritance to Jakub Sobieski and then to his son John III, a native of Zhovkva. It was there that the king celebrated his victory under the walls of Vienna. In the 18th century the castle's facade was decorated with the statues of its owners from the Zolkiewski, Danilewicz, Sobieski, and Radziwill families.

Olesko Castle
The castle is perhaps most famous for being the birthplace of the Polish king Jan III Sobieski, the hero of the Battle of Vienna. He often lived there, and collected many of the artworks currently displayed in the present-day museum. Another Polish king, King Michał Korybut Wiśniowiecki, was also born here.

Pidhirtsi Castle
It was constructed by Guillaume Le Vasseur de Beauplan between 1635–1640 by order of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth's Grand Crown Hetman Stanisław Koniecpolski, on the place of the older fortress. The castle was then part of the Kingdom of Poland and it is regarded as the most valuable of palace-garden complexes in the eastern borderlands (Kresy Wschodnie) of the former Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

And few more...According to historian Roman Aftanazy there were around 1500 palaces and mansions in Kresy.

Funny enough that all information are from english wikipedia page and it seems that they don't have any problems to write that "Kresy is a former territory of the eastern provinces of Poland" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kresy). But Skyscrapercity admins know better I see that Skyscrapercity actions are racist towards Poles (not banning forumers like Odoaker, not closing threads about East Prussia or German Breslau/Stettin, etc.).

East Prussia (former): http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=1540294

Germany (Stettin/Breslau/Danzig): http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=196145

Odoaker posts (for example): http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpo...&postcount=736

Katsuma, is there any site (maybe MSZ: http://www.msz.gov.pl/Main,page,2.html) where we can write official complaint, so we can take this problem a level higher. Maybe it's time to remove Skyscrapercity.com, if not all nations are treated equally.

And closed again... What was the reason behind that?
