Are those a trend? I keep seeing them in renders of visions for new trains. And now in an actual train.
I like them, too

The trains look really fantastic! Good job! I noticed that there are differences between trains with red and blue stripes at the doors. The trains with blue stripes seem to be more edged at the front and have different lights, wiper positions and some detail changes like the font of the numbering. Why?

Red and blue:

Those are trains for two different lines. The trains with red stripes are those of line 1, while the ones with blue stripes are those of line 3. The train numbers also confirm that (hard to see in the case of the line 1 train).

Shijiazhuang metro is opening on April 18 (or earlier, possibly as early as March 31), and from day one it will have two lines, line 1 and line 3. Line 1 runs East-West from Xiwang to Xiaohe Dadao, with 20 stations over 24 km. Line 3 runs Northwest-Southeast from Xisanzhuang to Sanjiaotong, with 17 stations over 19.5 km. Line 2 is also U/C, and is expected to be open in 2018.

37 stations to begin with - great! Too many metro systems open with very few stations and are declared a failure when patronage is low.

And that map will never be current, as two lines are doing the public tests until Sunday and will enter revenue service on June 26: line 1 and line... 3 (Yes, a line 3 before line 2, but that is how they are numbered in the overall plan). However not all of line 3 will open, only from Shi'erzhong (the station just North of Xinbai Guangchang, which is "Zhongshan Square" in the map above) to the railway station. Other two stations have been renamed in the meanwhile: What are "Renmin Square" and "Shengbowuguan" in the map are now Beiguo Shangcheng and Bowuyuan respectively, and Nancun has been moved one stop down the line, with the "Nancun" on the map becoming Xiaohe Dadao.
