Map of Poland proper (includes panoramic views of major cities, published in 1620)

The largest cities in Poland according to "Kronika polska" (Chronicle of Poland, published in 1597) after expansion to the East during Jagiellonian rule...

Interesting to see Biecz noted as a large city, today a beautiful but all but forgotten city/town...and I forgot that Wroclaw/Breslaw was part of Poland then too, interesting spelling looks like a blend of Polish/Slavic and Germanic versions.

No, it wasn't part of Poland since the 14th century. The map is based on the Corona Regni Poloniae (or ethnic) concept, rather than actual borders.

Borders of Poland according to "Kronika polska" (1597):

Source

At the time, Poland's territories stretched far to the East (incl. such cities as Kiev, Riga, etc.). But as you can see in the text above, "Kingdom of Poland (...) was separated from Pomerania(*) and Silesia".

*Pomerania comprised an area west to Lauenburg and Bytów land.

Here's map of Kingdom of Poland's territories (not entirely accurate) in 1571, which included Ruthenia, Prussia, Mazovia, Livonia, Kiev, Volhynia, Podolia, Greater Poland, Lesser Poland and GDL (with limited autonomy)...

Biskupin (an Iron Age fortified settlement discovered by Polish archeologists in 1933; a brochure published in 1938)

Source

The settlement belonged to the people of the Lusatian culture, whose ethnic identity is unknown, but according to the latest genetic studies bear close similarities to the early medieval Western Slavs (e.g. R1a1a-M458), therefore could be called their biological ancestors (link).

That's right actually it was Bohemian and later arounmd 1740 became part of Prussia. The city had very strong Polish and Slavic cultural roots and maybe that's why this map showed such a curious spelling of the cities name.
