Hanep, medyo ilang taon na lang at ma-rule over na nang mga bobo at walang kakayahang mga politiko ang gobyerno natin. Watch the Idiocracy movie para ma-foresee ninyo kung ano kahinatnan natin.

Mabuti naman the title of the thread has been changed. Election without "s" is a wrong choice of word for mid-term elections of Senators, Congressmen and LGU officials.

I changed it since this issue is limited only in The Philippines.
I got the previous title from the same title that DZBB used. I frequently listen to this station.

Hehehe...
Arrest order vs Arroyo put on hold SunStar http://www.sunstar.com.ph/breaking-n...ut-hold-246339 MANILA - Pending the resolution of former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s motion for judicial determination of probable cause, the Sandiganbayan has put on hold the arrest warrant issued against her Thursday. The arrest order is in relation to a non-bailable plunder case over the alleged misuse of P366 million in Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) intelligence funds. The arrest warrant was signed by Sandiganbayan First Division chairman Efren de la Cruz. House Deputy Minority Leader Danilo Suarez, an ally of Arroyo, found the issuance of the warrant “unusual”. In a phone interview, Suarez said: “Ewan ko ba. Awang-awa na ko, may sakit na nga eh”. Also named respondents to the case are former PCSO general manager Rosario Uriarte; former PCSO board chairperson Sergio Valencia; former PCSO board members Manuel Morato, Jose Taruc, Raymundo Roquero and Ma. Fatima Valdes; and former PCSO budget officer Benigno Aguas. Former Commission on Audit chairperson Reynaldo Villar and former COA intelligence officer Milda Plara were also named in the charge sheet. Arroyo’s arrest was ordered a day after her son, Ang Galing Pinoy party-list Representative Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) as she sought to be re-elected as second district congresswoman of Pampanga. Elena Bautista-Horn, the former President’s spokesperson, said Arroyo was not allowed by her doctors to personally file her candidacy papers. Arroyo is out on provisional liberty after a Pasay City court allowed her to post bail in connection to a separate electoral sabotage case. _____________________________ It's VMMC Part Deux for GMA... Ngek she is healthy enough to run for Congress and yet it's still back to the VMMC for GMA... Showbiz! Kaloko Talaga! ![]() GMA arrested, to be detained at VMMC again Interaksyon.com http://www.interaksyon.com/article/4...-at-vmmc-again MANILA, Philippines -- Police served the warrant of arrest issued by the Sandiganbayan for plunder charges on former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City Thursday afternoon. Arroyo will be detained at the hospital, where she was admitted due to dehydration caused by her spine condition. This is her second stint as a detainee at the VMMC. She was also held at the hospital after her arrest late last year on electoral sabotage charges. However, she was discharged after the Pasasy trial court hearing her case granted her bail. The plunder case is over her alleged misuse of a P366-million intelligence fund of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office. Last edited by 3cr; October 4th, 2012 at 12:18 PM. |

Political dynasties is becoming popular in our country's political scene. Even The Pacquiaos are slowly creating one.

Pacquiaos latest political dynasty — Church
Manila Standard http://manilastandardtoday.com/2012/...ynasty-church/ The Catholic Church on Thursday expressed alarm over the continuing spread of political dynasties in the country, citing the case of boxing icon and now Sarangani Rep. Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao. Marbel, South Cotabato Bishop Dinualdo Gutierrez said that Pacquiao’s family was apparently trying to dominate the top posts in the region following the filing of certificate of candidacies by Pacquiao’s wife Jinkee and the boxing icon’s younger brother Rogelio “Roel” Pacquiao recently. Jinkee is running for vice-governor, while Roel wants to join his more popular brother in the House as congressman of the first district of South Cotabato. Pacquiao himself is seeking a second term as congressman of the lone district of Sarangani. The Pacquiao family is only the latest of a long line of political dynasties in the region, which already has the Chiongbians, Antoninos and Constantinos. Earlier, former president Fidel V Ramos expressed the same sentiment as he cited the growing number of families whose members have entered the political arena to vie for various positions in their respective bailiwicks. “How many husbands and wives are running for the same level of position— fathers and sons, fathers and daughter, brothers and sisters, in-laws and in-laws, cousins and siblings are aspiring for the same office?” Ramos asked. “Is that the way Filipinos want themselves to be governed?” asked Ramos, who described the stranglehold of political families in their respective regions and as high as the national offices as “dynastism.” “Within all the senatorial, provincial, city, and municipal contests, you can see the pernicious hand of dynastism at play which is prohibited in the Philippine Constitution of 1987,” Ramos said. “It’s been 25 years and four presidential terms. Until now, there is no law to define, prohibit, and punish dynastism,” Ramos added. The 1987 Constitution ratified after the Marcos dictatorship mandated Congress to enact a law defining dynasty. “No law has ever been enacted by Congress because the law makers today are of a different breed. They have not the public good in mind but their private interests,” Ramos said. A civil society group also warned against the “blatant” expansion of political dynasties in the country. The Quezon City-based Center for People Power Empowerment in Governance or CenPeg that the prevalence of political dynasties does not augur well for the country’s democracy. “Definitely alarming today is the entrenchment of the system of political dynasties on a higher and more blatant scale, making the fair representation of the large majority of Filipinos even more elusive,” Cenpeg said. |

Protesters threaten to junk pro-Cybercrime senators in 2013 polls
By Matikas Santos INQUIRER.net 12:29 pm | Friday, October 5th, 2012 ![]() MANILA, Philippines – Members of Partido Lakas ng Masa (PLM) held a protest rally in front of the Commission on Elections Friday morning calling for the junking of senators who voted for the Cybercrime Prevention Act. “We call for the junking of the Cybercrime Law and the junking of the senators, who voted for it, during the coming elections,” PLM chairman Sonny Melencio said in their statement. “Out of 14 senators, we will focus on 10 senators who have not changed their support for the Cybercrime Law,” he added. Melencio identified them as Senators Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada, Gregorio Honasan II, Panfilo Lacson, Manuel Lapid, Loren Legarda, Aquilino Pimentel III, Ramon Revilla Jr., Vicente Sotto III, Ralph Recto, and Manny Villar. The other four senators who signed, Edgardo Angara, Pia Cayetano, Ferdinand Marcos Jr., and Francis Escudero, “have either passed an amendment against the online libel provision of the law or said they would work for the law’s revision,” Melencio said. He urged them to take concrete actions and not just make public pronouncements. “This is not blackmail, but a responsible response to the martial law character of the law,” he added. The recently passed law was met with widespread criticism for certain provisions said to be violative of the people’s right to freedom of speech over the internet. Melencio said they would continue to campaign against the senators who voted for the law. “The campaign will hit the grassroots community and factories nationwide where PLM has a base.” “Because of the severity of the issue, we want to hit the senator where it will hurt the most – the votes,” Melencio said. Liberal Party senatorial candidates Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV, Risa Hontiveros, and Ramon Magsaysay Jr. were filing their certificates of candidacy at the same time the protesters were holding their rally.
