No, we only have three so far: The Four Seasons, Southeast Financial Center, and the Marquis. We have a ton of buildings in the 150-200m range, but only these three break 200m. My understanding is that One Thousand Museum at 706 feet will be starting next year. We could use a nice crop of 700-footers like Houston and L.A.

'Meh' is such an annoying term. It's both insipid and metrosexual.

Demolition Permit Approved For 1101 Brickell Garage

Quote:
A demolition permit was approved last month for the garage at 1101 Brickell.

A sign for the demolition contractor Berg Demolition has been posted in front of the property, and some machinery could be seen on the site this week.

The estimated cost of demolition listed on the permit was $367,000, and the permit expires in June.

It's under 30 for "It's alright...I guess" with a slight frown and a twinkle of disappointment in one's eyes

I hope they are just removing the stuff on the roof with those small diggers or this demolition will take a long time.

You're telling me? It's about as bad as it was in the last decade trying to keep track of all this stuff. This is the garage that has to be demolished before construction begins.

Imagine that the elevator shaft is a concrete lightpost and those loaders look like toys.

I like the height on this building and in a different (maybe darker?) colour scheme (maybe black and white?) it might look quite contemporary. But the way it looks now it has a bit of a "stuck in the 90s" feel to it.

The new design is so incredibly disappointing. It looks like a 1970s Hong Kong tower block from a complex of five identical ones.

Yes, a lot of us were disappointed with it. It looks pretty generic. I think it's just another case of developers getting more bang for their buck with more salable space rather than ornamentation or design features that nobody can live in. At least we're getting a new tallest finally. That's one saving grace.

I actually think the very latest rendering is a significant improvement over what we had been seeing.
