Thank you for such a great walking tour. It makes the question "which season is the best to visit Lyon" more difficult to answer.

If you talk about the very clean one, it's the primatiale Saint-Jean-Baptiste-et-Saint-Etienne. We simply call it primatiale or cathédrale Saint-Jean.
Fourvière is the one on the hill. |

Very, very nice. The city looks spectacular - modern and clean.
It also looks lively with a young population. Are there big universities there? Also, the bikes all lined up with some silver rack and red fenders on the wheels - what are those? Are those bikes that anyone can just rent and then drop off at another location? Again, really nice pictures that give a good feel for the city. Thanks so much for sharing. |

There are 140 000 students in the city. Lyon has the second largest student population in France after Paris. http://www.onlylyon.org/study-in-lyon-35-2.html
The bikes are called "Vlove", the citybike system provides 340 different stations: http://www.velov.grandlyon.com/?L=1
