Well it looks like this was broadcast on the main TV channel belonging to the government-owned Teleradiocompany, so presumably they are official.

Agenstvo Minsk-Novosti is reporting that beginning this upcoming weekend, there will be "subbotnik"s at the Malinovka station under construction. There will be three shifts during both weekdays and weekend days. This is the Soviet-style coerced-volunteerism we have discussed in previous pages in this thread.

On 2013.01.17, natural stone (marble?) will be lowered into the station. It will be used in the platforms, vestibules and entrance areas. Safety systems and CCTV surveillance will be installed afterwards.

Chairman of Minsk City Council Nikolai Ladutko has confirmed that the new station will open on 2013.05.01.

Also, by the end of the week plans for construction of Line 4 should be confirmed.

About the so-called "forced labour": I don't particularly know the situation in Belarus, but I know many things about the mindset and the reasons to create such a system. By no means you can compare this with soviet labour camps, or something like that. Indeed, usualy the work is "voluntare" but the if the students don't want to do it, they will get bad grades to some techincal subject, or something like that. There is no phisical coercion, or pressure, no one is beaten if don't want to come...There is also the pressure of coleagues, but that's like anywhere...Then, even if is almost imposible to understand that with a western mindset, the work usualy is teribly bad organised, and with a very low efficiency. Lack of materials, of skils, are creating many "dead" moments. And belive it or not, for many kids that is fun, they are with their coleagues, they have time to make jokes and so on (like I sad, beyond the propaganda, efficiency is very low).

The biggest negative aspect is that a lot of time is lost, that could be used by the students way better. Their lack of skills, combined with bad organization are bringing a mixed result. By no means they are abused, indeed, they are loosing time there, but is also for most of them a good "working vacation"... Belive it or not, if you would ask them after, many would say it was fun...It is more or less like Scout Summer Camp in America, but instead a phisical training they are doing physical work. And indeed they are "pushed" to voluntere but not "obliged" and that is a big difference. Be sure, those who by no means want to attend, either are bringing medical records that they are not allowed to work (sometimes true, sometimes fake ) for that or are bribing, or just don't come, and receive not so good grades at a technical subject,
What I've said above, is not a direct experience, because I never been in Belarus, but because I know very well the "communist" mindset and their educational metods, I belive is a preety good assumption that things are working like that...

P.S. 1. Usually, in techinical schools, it is requested for each student to accomplish a perioad of "practice" in a related enterprise. I is safe to assume that for most of this students this work is considered their requested practice period, part of the curricula.

P.S. 2. Even if that was the impression, I don't say that this system is good. Manly, is just a waste of time for the students. But though, for the most of them is their first time experience at a "work place", and also they don't see it negatively, is rather like a scout camp, but more useful. If in the mean time they are learning some basic skills is even better for them. But like I said, usually it is very inefficient...

P.S. 3. Keep in mind, that in former communist Europe, school is taken more serious, there are more subjects, and way more homeworks to do then in in America, and therfore, some kids (if not many), prefer to spend their time at the construciton site, then in the classroom or doing homeworks

BELARUS: Construction of the third metro line in Minsk started on March 19. The 17·2 km north-south line would be built in two phases. The first is due to open in 2017 and will run from Yubileynaya Ploshchad to Kovalskaya Sloboda with 12 stations.
The first phase will not contain anywhere close to a dozen stops.

Scheduled opening of Malinovka station on Thursday this week has been placed in doubt due to accumulation of groundwater and mud in the rail tunnels.

Is there any possibility that during the upcoming ice hockey world championship, tourist photography of the Metro stations/trains could be somehow tolerated by officials?

The name in Belarussian is Малінаўка. The ў is a letter that only exists in the Belarussian language. It's equivalent to the "w" sound in English.
