One of my favorite villages in the near of my city:

Aartswoud, Nederland

The church in the middle of the village, with the well known ''Stompe Toren'', a tower with a flat roof and the only part of the medieval church that wasn't demolished (instead they covered 3 of the 4 sides of the tower with a new brick layer, except for the part that faces the roof). Old openings in the tower can still be seen in the inside.

Pretty Frisian villages! Make sure you source those photos if they are not yours

Love the canal! Do a lot of Dutch villages have canals flowing through them like this?

A village pond or canal with ducks and swans really accents a village!

Yes, a lot of them have canals flowing through them
That makes them lovely and so typical Dutch.....

Examples around my city are Onderdijk, Twisk, Andijk, Grootebroek, Lutjebroek, Enkhuizen and Wervershoof. Other examples in Holland are Holysloot, Edam, Monnickendam, Ransdorp, Oudewater and Schoonhoven.
