Volosko, Kvarner, Croatia

Volosko is a part of the city of Opatija, located in the Kvarner Gulf in western Croatia.
It is situated on the west side of the Preluka Bay, which is well known for its good windsurfing and sailing conditions.

Opatija, Kvarner, Croatia

Opatija is situated in the Gulf of Kvarner in a sheltered position at the foot of Učka mountain, with Vojak peak at 1401 m.
The city is geographically on the Istrian peninsula, though it is not in Istria county, but Primorje-Gorski Kotar county.
It is a popular summer and winter resort, with average temperatures of 10 °C in winter, and 25 °C in summer.

Lovran, Kvarner, Croatia

Lovran is one of the oldest coastal settlements on the eastern shore of the Istrian peninsula.
By the early Middle Ages it was an important urban and shipbuilding center of northern Adriatic.
By the mid 19th century, the area gains prominence as it becomes a fashionable resort of Austro-Hungarian nobility.

Bakar, Kvarner, Croatia

The old part of Bakar is situated on a hill overlooking the Bay of Bakar. "Bakar" is the Croatian and Turkish word for copper.
Bakar is a port for bulk cargo and used to be known for its industrial complex that included a coke factory which was closed in 1995.

Crikvenica, Kvarner, Croatia

Crikvenica is the largest settlement on the coast of the Vinodol coastal area, and developed on the Roman era settlement and military base called Ad Turres. In 1906 Crikvenica became officially a health resort and due to its favourable climate, in the space of just 16 years Crikvenica became the most important resort on the riviera. Today, with Selce, it is one of the most attractive parts of the Kvarner coast, and of North Adriatic coast of Croatia in general.

Veli Lošinj, Lošinj Island, Croatia

Veli Lošinj is a village on the island of Lošinj in the Kvarner gulf.
Veli Lošinj has a mild climate and caters to tourists. It is located 5 km from the town of Mali Lošinj.
It was an important port and fishing centre until the late 19th century. Today it is known as a tourist and aromatherapy centre.

Beli, Cres Island, Croatia

Beli is one of the oldest settlements on Cres which used to play a prominent role in the past. A settlement organised like an acropolis,
Beli is situated on a 130m high hill above the eastern coast of the northern part of the island, on the site of a prehistoric hill-fort. A colony of Griffon Vultures can be found near Beli. There they breed at lower elevations, with some nests just 10 m above sea level. ECO CENTER "Caput Insulae" which helps preserve the Griffon Vultures operates in Beli.

Susak Island, Croatia

Susak is a small island on the northern Adriatic coast of Croatia. The name Sansego comes from the Greek word Sansegus meaning Oregano which grows in abundance on the island. A small percentage of natives still reside on the island which has increasingly become a popular tourist destination—especially during the peak summer months.

Krk, Krk Island, Croatia

Krk is the main settlement of the island of Krk. The city is ancient, being among the oldest in the Adriatic. It has been continuously inhabited since Roman times and was once part of the Byzantine Theme Dalmatia after the Roman Western empire had fallen to the barbarians. Roman ruins can be seen today in some parts of the town, for example mosaics in the houses. The city had also preserved many medieval fortifications, including Frankopan Castle close to the Kamplin park, and part of the city walls built during the five centuries when the Republic of Venice ruled the city.

Vrbnik, Krk Island, Croatia

Vrbnik is a village on the east coast of the island of Krk. The town is perched on a limestone outcrop 50m above the Adriatic Sea.
Vrbnik is naturally separated from mainland Croatia by the Vinodol Channel, where the towns of Crikvenica & Novi Vinodolski can be observed across the water. Vrbnik is known for its indigenous varietal white wine called Žlahtina.

I thought for a while that you was trying to challenge me into a Italy vs Spain thread.....
But I've to admit that Spain has great villages and little towns as well as Italy has, and in general all Europe is blessed with beauty.
We Europeans should be proud of our historical and architectural heritage.
We live in the most beautiful land in the world, all the others coming second....
