My Peninsular Malaysia Trip 2012 + Hat Yai & Singapore

Hello, this is my first major thread in SkyscraperCity covering my recent trip with my friends to Malaysia, Southern Thailand, & Singapore; I hope you'll enjoy it!

This trip encompasses major cities in Peninsular Malaysia (KL, Georgetown, & Melaka), Southern Thailand (Hat Yai), and Singapore, and done in 7 days. Here is the general overview map of our trip:

Bandung->KL->Hat Yai->Georgetown->Melaka->Singapore->Johor Bahru->KL->Bandung

Well, actually if it wasn't because of AirAsia's special offer, we wouldn't have had this trip, because you know what, the return flight ticket from our base in Bandung, Indonesia, to KL only costs USD 34! (normally more than USD 80)
So we booked the offer instantly and here it is, our trip report!

Before, I've read on SSC about many interesting trip reports in KL & also its great skyscrapers, including its legendary Petronas Twin Towers. So what's truly more exciting than realizing that you'll meet them in just few hours?

Wooow, they look gorgeous! Can't wait to meet them!

Also I've prepared the most essential tools for surviving in the foreign country:
MAPS!

But before the excitement arrives, I must go through the legendary Indonesian traffic jams (macet)
The distance is only about 10 kms from my place but it took almost an hour to get there!

After an hour of struggling, finally...

Hello Airbus A320-200!

Bye-bye Bandung, see you again next week!

After 2 hours of smooth flight, finally I encountered my first sighting of Malaysia.

Port Dickson

Endless sight of palm oil tree plantations are common across Malaysia, since Malaysia is one of the world's leading producer of palm oil.

KLIA2 under construction

The older KLIA

Sadly, I wouldn't arrive there
Instead I arrived at LCCT (Low Cost Carrier Terminal) which is the home base of AirAsia Malaysia.

This is my ride to KL Sentral, only costs 8 RM per person

Upon arriving, suddenly I realized how crowded Indonesia is. Although it may look normal, for us Indonesians it felt weird since the roads look so empty.
(Maybe because it wasn't rush hour, I don't know; but in Indonesia, every hour is a rush hour)

Road leading to Sepang F1 circuit

Tollway entrance

En route to KL, I catch a glimpse of Putrajaya skyline. Sadly I didn't visit there, maybe next time...

Next visit:

Jamek Mosque in the heart of KL's skycraper jungle; one of the oldest mosques in Malaysia with a classical architecture,

India street, and the legendary Petronas Twin Towers

Stay tuned!
