I agree, it gives Portsmouth a bit of personality.

My most hated building is Sky Plaza in Leeds. It seems to fail at trying to be a bad (slightly Soviet looking) 60s office building, complete with garish low quality cladding panals that seem like they will age badly. The only good thing I can think of is that it must have a pretty good view from the top.

I kinda like the slimness. It doesn't look soviet to me at all.

these are the ones at harbor front right? the whole line up looks so repetitive, destroys the area imo

they should open it up, have a wider distance between downtown and the beach
every time i go there i feel like they are going to collapse on me

Yes, I'd rather they just got rid of them altogether. Toronto's worst urban mistake after the Gardiner.

You're having a laugh aren't you? Hardly a waste of space, the bugger is on a pier! It's the 21stC icon for Portsmouth.

I know everyone else will go apeshit over you listing chrysler (although I don't mind), but I seriously disagree with JHC. I agree with the Bangkok one, though. I always thought it looked so tacky, a cheap postmodern monstrosity which damaged the skyline. I find it worse than that abandoned skyscraper in the same city.

Speaking of that, I've always hated this:

Since when? There is no such thing as Soviet/communist/socialist architecture, considering every building is a copy of a Western one, only with laughable and bombastic ornamentation (red stars, propaganda murals, etc.).

I know. Possibly the most iconic skyscraper ever built. The only other one that equals it is the Empire State building. Makes you wonder what he thinks looks good.
