I agree, it gives Portsmouth a bit of personality.

My most hated building is Sky Plaza in Leeds. It seems to fail at trying to be a bad (slightly Soviet looking) 60s office building, complete with garish low quality cladding panals that seem like they will age badly. The only good thing I can think of is that it must have a pretty good view from the top.

I kinda like the slimness. It doesn't look soviet to me at all.

I absolutely hate those things. They ruin Toronto's skyline and cut the city off front the water. Viewed head on fron the lake they look even worse as the other one fans out the other way creating a 35 floor high wall 200m long. Btw, I also liked Perth's skyline way more before BHP.

Yes, I'd rather they just got rid of them altogether. Toronto's worst urban mistake after the Gardiner.

You're having a laugh aren't you? Hardly a waste of space, the bugger is on a pier! It's the 21stC icon for Portsmouth.

I know everyone else will go apeshit over you listing chrysler (although I don't mind), but I seriously disagree with JHC. I agree with the Bangkok one, though. I always thought it looked so tacky, a cheap postmodern monstrosity which damaged the skyline. I find it worse than that abandoned skyscraper in the same city.
Speaking of that, I've always hated this:

I know. Possibly the most iconic skyscraper ever built. The only other one that equals it is the Empire State building. Makes you wonder what he thinks looks good. Pompidou Centre is of my favourite buildings in the world actually.
