WTF? Why would anyone dare to tear down such a drop-dead gorgeous mansion like the Inisfada? At Long Island!
It even looks perfectly well-kept. That such a building isn't even landmarked makes me think there's something going really, really wrong with heritage preservation in the US. Incredible!

It'd pass as a first-class mansion calling for immense amounts of money nearly anywhere in Western Europe. Even if we have swathes of such buildings.

Oklahoma City has lost basically everything in its Downtown core, Now most of which is replaced by parking garages and super blocks.

Beverly's Grill. Now gone.
The Old Carnegie Library, Now gone.

The Old Criteron Theatre. Now gone.

The Orpheum Theatre, Now gone.

Demolition of Glenwood Hall near Atlanta started today. Half of it is already gone.

Please say this isn't true.....First Inisfada....AND this!? We have such precious little in the US worth preserving, and what's there we still so carelessly destroy for a quick profit. We as a nation have such a shallow sense of culture and heritage.....so sad

The Majestic Theatre, New York City. Demolished in 1954 to make way for the New York Coliseum convention center.

The Mail and Express Building in New York city that was demolished as early as 1920.
