Truly modern in its appearance, albeit it was build so early!

Uncomprehensible how idiots in the 1960s could think it's a good idea to tear such buildings down.

I can't help but laugh at your comment if only because it resonates with me; it is hard to open this thread sometimes for the exact reason you cited. I try to view these losses as providing a template for future architecture. Despite all the blue glass boxes that are currently in vogue, there could come again a time when citizens and developers assign value to artful, ornamented architecture.

True indeed. The current obsession with floor-to-ceiling glass ignores that a building of substance -- such as this structure -- can still allow prodigious light into the interior.
