Nice though!

Why not title this "Oxford Place"?

Cool plan and Foster towers look divine. TO is on a roll!

The project is contingent on whether the city approves the development of a casino somewhere in Toronto. That's a pretty controversial issue, so we'll see what happens. I do love the redevelopment of the convention centre though, as it's much needed. The park over the rail tracks is fantastic and the Foster towers look amazing too.

They literally copied the proposed diamond tower in Seoul (or whatever the name is)

I would have liked it better if it wasn't so close to the CN Tower.

I disagree.

The CN Tower has long felt removed/disconnected from the rest of downtown. Ritz, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Delta Hotel, and the aquarium have brought the city closer. This proposal would complete the integration. Building right over the train tracks is just what the area needed and long over due.

2 thumbs up!

Actually it seems like Foster + Partners just recycled their first WTC (2003) proposal in a slightly smaller scale and changed the floorplans from a triangle / hexagon transition to a square / octagon transition.

Looks like this building in Seoul (right) - Yongsan Project.

It does, but Toronto desperately needs to move beyond the International Style. We've done it to death.

I don't even care if the design is the exact replica of another proposed or under construction tower elsewhere. Anything that will add to the architectural diversity of the city is good.

Agree. We don't have anything quite like it here and that's what's key. I don't live in Seoul.

Redkey: that's ok. We had 2 jump starts already with Holt Renfrew and the Gehry proposal only to have those expectations deflated somewhat. This may end up being below 300m, so it's best to put it here first.

Just posted by a reliable source at UT; looks like we have to move this one to the supertall subsection again!

A source at City Hall intimately associated with this project has told me that three of the towers proposed here are taller than the Mirvish proposals, and the two to the east are proposed at… one thousand seventy feet each.

Have fun.

Office Tower 2: 326m/1070ft
Hotel Tower 1: Between 284-326m
Hotel Tower 2: Below 276m

Two, possibly three supertalls proposed in a country without even one? Are you sure on those numbers, where are they from?

The Mirvish proposals call for 284m, 276m, and 272m.

lol... Yes two possibly 3 supertalls proposed in a country... in A CITY that has nearly as many buildings proposed and under construction as the ENTIRE UNITED STATES, but because our current largest is 2m short of your arbitrary supertall marker we couldn't POSSIBLY ever get 2 or 3 "supertalls" amiright?

They walk along us people, they walk among us...

Um... you don't have to jump down his throat. He was just asking for confirmation.
