It wishes it had the charm or the wow factor of the Bilbao Guggenheim, but actually it FAILS all the way. It is perhaps the best proof that the architecture of impressive forms fails big way, when it is not accompanied by substance.
it depend from where you are looking at this architecture ....if i was a bird ...from the sky......the architecture the design of this building is so complex
materials are of very high facture.....the finish is amazing too.
architects are coop-himmelblau from austria, deconstruction-deconstructivism architecture.

I can understand than a Frankfurt resident has a lack of good taste, you are probably accustomed to the architectural poverty, but this museum is stunning and impressive, and it looks totally like the renderings.

It's funny all these trolls (you, protoman, etc) who emerging suddenly from their hole, but unfortunately for you, this Musée des Confluences is already considered like a great achievement :

And it's just the beginning. Deal with it, hater(s).

The Second Book of General Ignorance

“French romances occupy a central position in the development of medieval European
literature. Their most popular subject matter by far was the Arthurian legend, which, though it
had its origins elsewhere, was first cast in romance form in France: the Round Table, the
tragic love story of Lancelot and Guinevere, and the notion of the Grail quest were all French
innovations."

Seriously mate? I am a troll just because i expressed politely my personal opinion and I don't like this building ? Or just because I am resident of Frankfurt? Interesting view...

Just because someone has an opinion doesn't have him/her a troll. I may not participate much in this thread, however my opinion that this building seems out of place in the beautiful city of Lyon still stands. There is nothing wrong with the building design but it might fit in better in places with many futuristic buildings. Can't believe you actually had the audacity to make yourself look like a fool by calling other people trolls when you are the one acting like a troll. No offense though. All's well.

Anyhow, the slandering of individual opinions should stop from this point onwards in order to ensure this thread remains true to its original purpose. Cheers!

I respect the opinion of the gentleman from Frankfurt, I just happen to disagree with it. To me the Musee is a very unique futuristic concept that should wear well over time. It may not be Bilbao - but then what is?

I agree that the rendering was realy more exiting than the final result. But it's a very original building.
