Amsterdam has a height limit on the south axis of 100 meter due to the proximity of Schiphol Airport.

That churchtower of Utrecht is a relic from another age and should have no further influence on modern day society. The result of this height restriction is already visible in the skyline. The Rabobank tower and the new City adminstration building could have been slender tall towers which can form an excellent skyline in combination with the churchtower, but now they are compressed to shorter and fatter buildings. With these compressed volumes they dominate the skyline even more and they block the view on the churchtower.
