It's nice, but conservative/glassy rather than something more deserving of the name. Seen a lot worse though so it is a nice addition for Fort Lee.

Very cool video.

Two more, a bit older (one from mid July and the other from the end of july) But they completely show the area.

Captures of the video from july 16th.
Includes the Hudson Lights plot, across the street from The Modern, where we can see that the columns from the ground floor are done.
Three months later it should be much more advanced.

Captures of the video from july 31st.

In this capture I point three lots where the houses have been recently torn down (they still appear on GE images)
Looks that the development on this area continues.

An Article from the New York Times, the tower is now leasing.

Transforming a Skyline
Residential Tower in Fort Lee, N.J., Begins Leasing

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/19/re...s-leasing.html

Quote:
For the last two years, drivers stuck in traffic on the George Washington Bridge have watched a slender bluish tower rise at the edge of Fort Lee, N.J. Now, they might have a better way to stay put: They could just live in it.

Leasing began last month at the Modern, a 450-unit rental near the entrance to the bridge. The 47-story tower — the first of two identical buildings planned — dwarfs the surrounding structures, offering residents in the penthouse floors unobstructed views of the Hudson River, the New York City skyline and the green canopy of northern New Jersey, along with Westchester and Rockland counties.
Quote:
Monthly rents at the Modern start at $2,105 for a studio, $2,700 for a one-bedroom and $3,925 for a two-bedroom. Prices have not yet been set for three-bedrooms or for any of the 78 units located on the top eight penthouse floors. New tenants will get two months’ free rent when signing a 14-month lease.

Taken on Thanksgiving, November 27th. I was riding passenger and was crossing the GWB so I took a quick cell phone picture. It was good to see the first tower complete. Are there still plans for a second?

Yes. Second tower breaks ground in 2015.

Fort Lee is the new New Jersey

http://nypost.com/2015/01/07/fort-le...ew-new-jersey/

Quote:
SJP plans to break ground on the project’s second tower in the third quarter of 2015 with completion expected in late 2017. Hudson Lights will open its first phase, consisting of 277 apartments and 145,000 square feet of retail, at the end of 2015. Construction on the second phase — which will feature 201 apartments, 50,000 square feet of retail and a 175-room hotel — will begin in 2016.

I ask that no one take offense to this, but I went by this tower in Fort Lee expecting a nice area, and man, what a shitty place Fort Lee is. It's a city for passing through and not much else. I say this because I think if these projects go through, they could greatly revitalize this place. Fingers crossed
