There goes three. TAP flies to another airport in London

The national airline is strengthening its presence in a market that is growing 20% this year. It will operate two daily flights between Lisbon and London's financial center.

TAP will fly to another airport in London. After Heathrow and Gatwick, the national airline will now land in London City, making it the only one to connect Lisbon to the British capital's financial center.

Direct connections between Lisbon and London City started on Tuesday with two daily flights Monday through Friday and a daily flight over the weekend, TAP said in a statement sent to newsrooms.

The flights will be operated in Embraer 190, with capacity for 106 passengers, with departures from Lisbon at 6:50 am and 4:45 p.m. and return from London at 10:00 a.m. and 7:55 p.m., during working days. On Saturday, TAP departs from Lisbon at 6:50 p.m. and from London at 10:00 p.m. Finally, on Sunday, part of Lisbon at 4:45 p.m. and London at 07:55 p.m.

The new route will increase TAP's UK market share by 24 percentage points in terms of frequencies, the airline said.

The number of passengers transported between Lisbon and London increased by 20.3% in the first quarter of this year, "so this reinforcement means a commitment to a strategic market such as the UK, for business and tourism," concludes TAP.

You can fly farther: TAP opens new routes

The company reinforced its offer in the North American, German and Spanish markets with the addition of four new destinations.

The airline TAP chose the Day of Portugal to inaugurate four new destinations. As of today, besides the wide offer already provided by the company, it is possible to fly with TAP to Toronto, Stuttgart, Gran Canaria and Alicante.

The expansion to the North American market began a year ago with the opening of the Boston and New York-JFK routes, which proved to be quite profitable with occupancy rates above 85%, and has now been strengthened by the opening Of the route to Toronto.

The bet in Germany happens with the new route to Stuttgart and also, the Spanish market, with the addition of the two new routes. It is recalled that the Spanish market is the second most significant for TAP, representing 10% of total network traffic.

In addition to expanding to new destinations, TAP intends to take advantage of its strategic hub in Lisbon and provide medium and long-haul customers with flights with a stopover in Portugal the possibility to take a break in Lisbon or Porto, up to three Days at no additional cost through the Portugal Stopover Program.

Portugal Stopover has 12,000 bookings made only in the first four months of the year, totaling 50,000 since the launch last July.
