Amazing Antwerp!
Hello fellows. Let me take you for a little tour through Antwerp. The second biggest city in Belgium, the most populated in Flanders. It's not only one of the biggest seaports in the world, but also a cultural gem, architectural delight and great place to live, work and enjoy the good things of life.

You're kidding me, Joshsam? It's just outside Berchem railway station. One of the most famous neighbourhoods in Antwerp and the most famous outside the city center.

No I'm not :p I've never walked in that area. Berchem looks like an oversized suburb with a freeway through it and no soul from inside the train... So no. I'm surprised

It's very diverse. The areas outside the freeway are abit more suburban, but the area on the other side is older, more dense and more interesting. Come check it out!

Like I said I've only seen the view from outside of the train and what you are confronted with aint pretty... A freeway and giant intersections of the parallel boulevards to that freeway. Anlong those boulevards stand neglected homes with dirty facades or just bland office buildings. So untill I saw these pics, that was the immage I had of Berchem

Time to get out of that train a station earlier Joshsam. Not only Zurenborg, also the rest of 'old' Berchem is a pretty place. After the Zurenborg selection, I'll take the tram to the city center. So yes, Grote Markt will follow soon. ![]() Indeed, even ouside the R1 city ring Berhem has got some nice interbellum-neighbourhoods.
