Compilation Thread: Transportation Development

I am in the city planning field, and I am deeply interested on how transportation and infrastructure affect a community's overall growth and development, particularly with mass transit versus cars, bike lanes versus highways, and everything in between. In the process, I will be creating even more poll threads that are specific to this issue of infrastructure and transportation, and here is my compilation thread of all the poll threads I've done so far, similar to what I've done for the Urban Development compilation thread (source). If you have any poll ideas, questions, or suggestions, leave me a note here. Also included in this list would be my aviation polls.

As for the next topic, I want to discuss which form of mass transit would be best for urban and suburban communities (2 parts), in which I would like to ask you how you would develop a frequent transit network for either a dense urban or a sprawl suburban scenario, and what would it take to make them effective in the long-run.
