Does anyone care about the Blast?
Just thought I'd throw this out there. With the Baltimore Blast's upcoming season (next weekend is the season opener at 1st Mariner) rapidly approaching us, I was wondering how many of you actually follow the franchise. They get next to NO press in the city, on The Fan, or practically anywhere else. I do realize that they draw 6,000 - 7,000, on average, per game, but why doesn't the city embrace the team at all?
I know relatively little about the Blast, and haven't been to one of their games in years (I'm going to try out a few this season), so just wanted others' opinions of the team. To another great Blast season!

i love the blast! My wife & I are season ticket holders. I agree with you that they don't nearly get the exposure that they deserve. Over the years, I believe they've won 5 championships? Maybe 6?
yes, they definitely deserve more press. They're awesome....

I don't care about soccer. Even if Baltimore had an MLS team I doubt I would care much.

I've been meaning to go to a Blast game for the past few years. Do they do any discounts?

I haven't seen much in the form of discounts (although a living social ad may have happened either last year or 2 years ago), but the lower end tickets go for $16 at the Box Office. Not too bad.

... And actually, as I have just looked, Living Social has lower level seats available for $11 for the home opener! Would be a great opportunity to snag some good tickets at a great price.

bottom line is we still have enough passionate fans here that actually cares about this team. The Blast, along with the Milwaukee Wave, have averaged 7,000-8,000 fans for years! That's @ the top of the MISL! For this reason is why I'm hopin' that one day soon, we'll land a current of expansion MLS club.
