Is this Dallas' attempt to recreate the success of Millennium Park in Chicago?

Great way to reconnect parts of a city that had been divided by a freeway.

I'm assuming that the park is 20-30 feet higher than street level? Do you get up to the park with stairs, ramps, and/or through abutting buildings?

Great looking urban park. Is there a map of this part of Dallas, I'm intrigued to see how it covers the highway.

Here is a link.

The highway was depressed, they just "covered" it and made some alterations to the nearby landscape.

Great project. Finally knitting together what bad urban planning of the last century cut into bits and pieces with ugly highways. It is great how Dallas is developing.

Here is an aerial view of the park.

Basically since the freeway was already in a trench, planners decided to cap the freeway and build a park above it. Kind of similar to the Big Dig project in Boston but on a much smaller scale.

Hay, the park is very beautiful and good looking. Its a great opportunity for people in the city for exercise and jogging. My grandpa is very interested in parks and come there for jogging.

Looks like they did a nice job with it. Definitely great for knitting the city back together.

I'm not liking the flowers they planted. They look plastic and out of place surrounded by dead pine needles. I don't know what to feel about the park, it just doesn't work for me. I guess it's too much grass for such a dense environment, it almost feels like something that belongs in suburbia.

110 million dollars? Very steep price, but I guess the engineering was complicated.

110 million sounds really cheap to me. Certainly well worth it for that price, although I also think that they could have done better with the park.
