that's exactly what i thought, besides it was totally unnecessary. They probably bared these facts in mind which is why it wasn't built

I don't like renders like this, because they are very carefully selected to give an impression that simply can't be had from most vantage points.

It reminds me of the images they used for the bishopsgate tower - which looked similarly dynamic, but from most angles looks a lot worse... a bit like a filing cabinet (hence the name).

The Heron tower also benefits from hugely selective choice of view. The buildings I like best seem to look good from all sorts of angles - gherkin, Shard, Lloyds, Tower of London :-)
