One item I believe is important to the city is keeping the Sony Ericsson Tennis Tournament in Miami. The tournament brings in millions of dollars annually and gives the city great exposure on international television. Vote Yes on #238

Keep Sony in Miami, vote YES on #238

LOL! Broward is the most Democrat county in the whole state. Last election 68% voted for Obama. That's why some peeps dont like us. We're too hippie. All 3 counties will be blue...in less proportion but yes. Even Palm Beach due to his large African-American population

Unless they side with their ethnicity and not what's best for the country.
Isn't that called something...?
WHAT?!?! In what world you live in? Havent you seen the census numbers? There are way more minority babies than white (non-hispanics).

Either way you'll be having a big surprise tomorrow. The math doesnt add up to your candidate. The minimum number I've seen is 290 for Mr O.

Definitely! It's one of the largest tennis events in the world.

Absolutely the GOP will have to steer away from their most radical, Nativist elements if they are to stay even remotely credible and/or relevant in the future. Nearly every demographic trend in the country is steamrolling against that mindset.

Additionally, they would also be wise to recognize that some of their hot burner issues like opposition to gay marriage are simply not shared by younger voters---and increasingly by those at large. It may still work now (in some places), but those days are quickly coming to an end.

Even as a leftie, I WANT to see principled and intelligent opposition. The GOP will need to refocus on being primarily an economic opponent and distance themselves from the moralistic crusaders and bitter Nativists who will carry them to irrelevance if allowed to take over the party. The 1950's are not coming back.

Dude, take a chill pill.

Since the recession hit hard the amount of non-white babies have lessened and the amount of white babies have increased.

"My candidate"... My candidate was Ron Paul.
I just don't want Obama to win again.

My mom and I are keeping one little part of Tequesta VERY blue.

PBC is majority Dem overall, but less so than Broward and Dade. I'd like to see the breakdown, too, but would venture that Palm Beach proper is VERY red, West Palm VERY blue, and other population centers like Jupiter and Boca more of a political gumbo.

Here's the link for the map. Palm Beach is just like Broward, VERY BLUE west of I-95. It only gets more red at the northern end around Jupiter.

Well said. GOP has to steer clear of those Nativists or else become a dinosaur.

Nate Silver now has Obama up two points in Florida - a seven-point swing since yesterday. Florida is going to be really, really close. Close enough for another massive debacle, perhaps....

Interesting tidbit on why we vote when we vote (and how obsolete the reasons are):

Back when voters traveled to the polls by horse, Tuesday was an ideal day because it allows people to worship on Sunday, ride to their county seat on Monday and vote on Tuesday - all before market day, Wednesday.
And the month of November fit nicely between harvest time and brutal winter weather -- which can be especially bad when you're trudging along by horse and buggy.

I am sort of expecting some surprises tonight, because I don't really trust the polls....even considering the margin of error. And this is not a Dem or GOP viewpoint....it just comes from years of noticing enough poll results don't actually come to fruition....in any case...it is going to be a long night!!

Where is Walter Cronkite when you need him...??

Its time Florida pulled another recount debacle. God knows we're whores for attention and we haven't been getting enough since that face eating incident.

i crack up at attention whores...and the ultimate is an undecided voter in a swing state. a reporter said today that she found a guy in line to vote today who said he was still undecided...perfect example of a dope, who is also a procrastinator

God, please no. I don't think they'll let me come back to Philly if it happens again.

More facial consumption would be ok, though.
