One thing is for sure...this complete Aerocity would be amazing...its one huge construction site and would be one of the finest business & hotel districts ...

Mr. MoD sir,
 Boss, hotels seem to be coming up well. It would be good if they could have a world-class convention centre like Dubai or Singapore, a mega health city, an equivalent of Bandra Kurla Complex and maybe a super tall.

Check out the size of the excavated MGM hotel plot at the Aerocity. Looks as if they transplanted a DeBeers mine to Delhi. This must be atleast 6-7 floors deep.
btw these were shot in Oct 2011. Foundation works should be ON right now. The hotel U/C in the back is the Novotel hotel, for those wondering about it. |

Holy Mother of God!!!...What the Hell!! I wonder why they need to excavate so much, probably for underground parking. Its looks deeper than the god damn India tower site.

Great. One important side benefit is how such projects bring the latest construction/building trends/techniques to India. Going deep seems the most logical way to get around the height restrictions that must be in place due to airport vicinity.
A city like Bangkok has practically no parking issues due to every multistory building reserving upto first 8-10 floors for parking. I wonder why we don't embrace it in India (yes, MLCPs are gradually becoming popular), esp for all the dense housing complexes mushrooming all across now that FARs are being relaxed. |
