A city like Bangkok has practically no parking issues due to every multistory building reserving upto first 8-10 floors for parking. I wonder why we don't embrace it in India (yes, MLCPs are gradually becoming popular), esp for all the dense housing complexes mushrooming all across now that FARs are being relaxed.
Another thing I have noticed abroad is that their safety standards for workers are good. They all wear helmets, proper clothing and proper safety tools. The second thing is the speed of construction abroad seems faster-maybe more use of prefabricated material or steel I guess. Bangkok I'm not entirely sure because my Thai friends say it has legendary traffic jams.

I wrote that from Bangkok. . True traffic jams here are legendary but not due to any parking issues. This city has near zero parking problem. Besides, the elevated expressway network of the city has to be seen to be believed. Apologies to be OT for a while.

^ Not true at all. And in any case, I wouldn't go as far saying that work on the aerocity has slowed down after seeing the exterior of just 4-5 projects out of a total of 14 developments.

• Lemon Tree: The hotel in off white is almost ready and will open by the end of this year (as per the plan).

• Hyatt Andaz: Has completed 3-4 floors as seen in Abhishek's pic. In MoD's last update, this had just started to pop out of the ground level.

• Pullman Hotel: In MoD's IMG_0108 you can see MEP works going on which only suggests that interior works are underway.

• Dusit D2: Can been seen in MoD's IMG_0104. This is going to top out soon.

Keep in mind that since all of these hotels will be competing against one another, the contractors at different sites are under tremendous pressure to complete the construction on time so that the hotels can start making money asap.

Bharti's Worldmark is another project at the Aerocity that has seen sweet progress compared to its last update in November when all 3 buildings were at the -3 basement level.

July updates from their website (check it out for more pics):

Worldmark 1 - 1st Floor Casted, 2nd Floor decking works in progress

Worldmark 2 - 5th Floor Casting in progress

Worldmark 3 - 5th Floor Casted, 6th Floor Scaffolding works in progress

JW Marriott Hotel New Delhi Aerocity appoints leadership team

The 523-room JW Marriott Hotel New Delhi Aerocity has appointed its senior management team ahead of its 2013 opening. This will be JW Marriott’s largest hotel in India and will be headed by Balan Paravantavida as general manager, who has been working for Marriott International since 1984.

The hotel promises to offer discerning travellers a front seat to Aerocity, the emerging world-class business and leisure district. Apart from serving the luxury business traveller, the hotel is also targeting the increasingly important Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) market by offering one of the largest indoor banquet facilities in the city.
