BERLIN | The Square³ | 118m | 66m | 48m | 33 fl | Pro

The Square³ in the Berlin district of Hohenschoenhausen.
Moritz Group plans a mixture of office space, restaurants, apartments, shopping center and a hotel. Costs of the project will be about 450 million €.
According to some newspaper article the project will be finished in 2015...anyway, investor Moritz-Group is looking for an international partner right now, so..let´s hope they will start construction soon.

It is too far away from the city center IMO.

Also... is 118m some sort of height limit in Berlin? Zoofenster, Upper West and now The Square - they are all exactly 118m high!

actually there is no height limit except in the historical center around "Unter den Linden" (22m, the traditional "Berliner Traufhoehe") and at Alexanderplatz (150m). But you´re right, it´s really strange, this is the 3rd project with 118m.

distance to city center

Actually it is just 5km (10 minutes by car) away from the city center (Alexanderplatz), connected with one of Berlins few 3-lane streets.

There is height limits almost everywhere, as stated in the binding site plan ("Bebauungsplan").

But in general there is no absolute height limit in planning and building laws.

Berlin really needs some taller towers. At 118m these buildings are not really sticking out in that big city.
