I just dont get it. How is Iraq getting all these projects done???? In 2003, they were in the middle of war. In like 2010, it was still pretty violent. Where does all the money come from??? the supplies???

Well, if Iraq is getting these projects done, then, well, good job.

The projects in iraq are financed through investment and by the government. Iraq is a rich country, the 2013 budget is going to be over $110 billion, this figure is expected to triple over the next 10 years. Iraq has massive reserves of natural resources,
-4th largest oil reserves in the world, with 80% percent of the land still unexplored),
-2nd largest reserves of phosphate in the world
-10th largest natural gas reserves, with 80% of land still unexplored
- Iraq's strategic area could serve as a transit between Asia and Europe. Instead of going around the Arabian peninsula into the suez canal, goods could be shipped to Basra via sea, then shipped to Europe via railway. This would save time and money. (Al Faw grand port will be built to handle the capacity, work in the first stages of the port will start in less then a year)

The security situation in iraq isn't as bad as it is shown in the media. According to the statistics, the central Euphrates and southern provinces as well as the Kurdish region actually have a lower crime rate than some "safe" countries such as the US. The terrorists attacks are focused in specific areas (specifically diyala, Mosul, anbar and Baghdad)

Most if the material is imported through through neighboring countries or through the I'm wast port in basrah.

Now of course people don't stop their lives just because there are security issues, life must go on. Baghdad has a population of about 7 million.

Thank you very much for the explanation.
