Those pesky 235m and 275m height limits say otherwise.

Looking at the renders, I think most if not all of the parking is above ground unfortunately.

Take off the gold thing, and redo the base, and this would be a lovely clean-lined tower in the style of Chicago's Lake Point Tower. It's not a disaster even as it is, but it could be refined. Melbourne's a gracious city, and this isn't quite good enough imo.

If this is final.. than I really hope they keep the vegetation in the parking floors to hide the cars cause I don't think without that it would present a pleasant view

I love how each car gets to sit near the window.

This building appears to not have much of a basement level at all ...

I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks the golden in between is but ugly. The rest of the tower looks very good. But what was the architect thinking when he was drawing this thing in the middle. Just imagine how it would be without. Almost perfect.

BTW : Love Melbourne

I also don't like that golden box in the middle of the tower. Without it.. it would've been way nicer. Though.. from 2 sides (left or right xD.. in the above pic) the tower will look too fat.. in a very unhealthy way I think

I don't like that protruding gold piece (gold tumor??), looks weird The rest of the building is awesome.

Pretty common for skyscrapers in this part of Melbourne - the ground is relatively soft, has low bearing capacity at the surface and is not ideal for excavating deep basements. The basement at Eureka Tower a few blocks away is only one level.

The gold divider won't be that prominent and will likely be obscured by much of the Southbank cluster from most views.

The Gold starburst feature is at 210m...higher than most skyscrapers in Australia...Although not the same, I regard it like the gargoyle level on the Chrysler Building NYC...you may say ugly but it's all in the eye of the beholder ? Without it it could be any building anywhere. I have become used to it and like it...and it's not even there yet !

Although I'm not a huge fan of that gold thing, it gives the building its distinct Australian feel. Conservative is not the word you would describe pretty much any Melborune highrise, so it fits right in.
