Cairo & Streetlife
Cairo is a fascinating and enchanting metropole, attracting hundreds of thousands of tourists on a yearly basis to be engulfed and absorbed by treasures of yesteryear.
However, Cairo is also a city with regular streetlife, like any other city. Far from the maddening crowds being conditionally directed in huge herds by tour operators to the Egyptian Museum, the Citadel, the Sphinx, the Piramids and Khan-el-Khalili; like gnoes crossing the Serengeti. These are uncut impressions, showcasing regular Cairo. Had this thread been an audio-file though, you would have needed earplugs to eliminate the 24 hour cacaphony and indiscriminating abuse of claxons and the deafening sounds of screaming days.

It is definitely unique. I had a great time in Cairo -apart from being constantly harassed but that is part and parcel of this amazing place. Thanks for the pics.
