PARIS | Tour IMEFA 52 | 189m | 620ft | 43 fl | Pro

'IMEFA 52'
___________

Quote:
Location : Issy Les Moulineaux

Architect : Jean Paul Viguier

Client : Crédit Agricole Assurances

Developer : Constructa

Surface area : 60,138 sq m

Budget: €210 M + Tax

Schedule : 2014...?

Architectural competition won in 2011

Quote:
The location of the IMEFA 52 tower marks an entrance to the city, and is especially visible because it stands on the banks of the Seine, in an open landscape which accentuates shapes and volumes.

Located on the banks of the Seine, in a direct line from Issy-Les-Moulineaux bridge, the IMEFA 52 tower is a landmark, a local reference point, as if it is steering the project to build the towers alongside it. While the tower is in itself a piece of drama, it is vital that, in Issy-Les-Moulineaux, this piece of drama remains a high point. The city is horizontal: it is on the ground that it fosters flows, ties and continuity. Anything that stands out against the horizon creates a marker or a scansion visible from a distance, and must create a bond, flexibility and harmony with the ground.

WOW! Love this design!

Nice location too, next to the river.
Although I wish Paris would build more skyscrapers next to the Montparnasse Tower. I'm telling you, less Parisians will hate it if there is a cluster around it.

Here's the petition to back the whole scheme consisting of 3 towers HERE.

There's already lots of revolted associations ferociously opposed to it(for a change ), so we do need lots of signatures to balance it all...please sign the petition guys.

Many thanks.

@ ThatOneGuy: I so agree with you...unfortunately such a possibility has already been submitted & simply isn't doable...proposing a tower project out of the centre of Paris already is so controversial/scandalous for heaps of individuals (associations+nymbys+Greens), so, imagine if another tower was to be proposed in the heart of the capital, that would be suicidal...most of the parisians are still traumatised by tall buildings because of Montparnasse Tower, even 40 years after its construction.

I think a better idea would be to move this tower to La Defense and demolish Montparnasse altogether

As Jex7844 wrote, two other skyscrapers are proposed in the area.
If all is done, this tower would not stand alone.

Note that this is only a drawing and not a rendering, I cannot find a rends with all the three towers.
The tower of this thread should be the middle one.

Better a cluster than a loose tower, I agree.

Yes skyscraperus.

Here's a french feedback coming from the associations opposed to the whole project (strange init? ). Despite their appeal, the town council is willing to go ahead with the project & has recently approved the carrying out file of the ZAC du Pont d'Issy, preparing for the public enquiry prior to the authorization of the towers' construction.

Quote:
29 mai 2013

I prefer the one tower version, because 2 other towers are pretty ugly.
