A Life in the City
http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/175179
I thought this would be an appropriate thread in the Toronto general discussion group for the book talks about the development of the Eaton Centre and hurdles that had to be jumped to put the shovels into the ground. Revelations on the torching of the historic warehouses, murder of a homeless man and insights on daily life downtown back in the 80's, and interactions with celebs from Jack Layton to Gordie Howe. Some history kept under wraps. |

The premise of this looks pretty laughable. Eaton Centre was "the centre of life in the city" that "turned Toronto into a world class city", with its all-powerful mall cops with their ties to the "Canadian Establishment". Riiiight. Sounds like someone making fiction out of the mundane.
