Indeed a mistake; tried to fix but can only change the post title. If a mod can help, would be great!

Not revolting, just terrible placement.

I'll give it time. I guess it would've worked somewhere other than next to the Knickerbocker Building.

I'm up to no words to describe this sad building. I'll try: A nightmare between two beauties. I am impressed with the projects proposed lately in Times Square. Seriously, this area of the city today has to be built quality buildings not only fill.

Decent building in completely the wrong place haha. I imagine the design sitting on a shelf for a while, waiting for an empty plot.
This was what turned up so the heck with it :P

It's a good "filler", and if anything, I think it complements the older neighboring building well

At least it aligns correctly with the street wall. Also, the placement is not terrible. No classical style building would ever be built in this location. The best you'd get is some kind of glass wall.

The cladding has something from One57, and the side is just boring. Nice that it setback for the windows of it's neighbour.

Well, second design was presented in 2011. First is much older. So i think that design in the beginning of this page is final.
P.s. a bit more renderings of the old design:
