I like this design a better. It doesn't overshadow the old building and it doesn't seem to have blind walls. And there would have been a nice incline of the building hights on that street.
At least the old tower look a bit more independent with the new design. I hope the facade will be decent.

Those are old. The current design is lousier.

Oh god, why did they dump the old design? If they're gonna make the building taller, at least keep the old design.

This design looks so much better with the setback at the top. I'm not crazy about glass design, but this one contrasted very well with the older buildings.

the other design has no consistency in it's glass color scheme. It looks like tetris blocks all over the building.

That 2nd one has a better pattern IMO, glass color is hard to judge on these models.

The cladding looked good, but sadly enough I didn't take any pictures of it when I was walking there.

From Skyscraperpage:

The photo seems oversaturated, though. Probably not the exact glass colour.

Nevertheless the colour of the glass comes close to this in reality.

Sorry for the off colors and quality. The only light came from an obnoxiously bright billboard that was installed at the bottom that reflected its light off of the building across the street.

What is that 'grid' on the facade? That's not in the render.

Also, I'm not liking the facade. Just pure glass could have worked better than what's on there right now.

This building wouldn't have been so bad if it weren't for the setback and the blank side walls.

But given that the area it's in has always been an architectural shit show, it doesn't seem too bad in context.

Very nice.

The more billboards and video screens, the merrier.
